A celebration of life will be held Friday June 6, for MnSPE President Emeritus, Howard Burton Loomis, Jr., 96 at Creekside UCC Church. The church is at 106 E Diamond Lake Rd in Minneapolis: 10 AM Visitation, 11: AM Service, followed by a luncheon.

Suzanne Jiwani, PE, also an MnSPE Past President, recalls Loomis as ‘an all around good guy who did a lot of good things for a lot of people’. “He envisioned a good future  for people in his community and in our profession — and he worked hard to make that future happen. He was also really interested in and supportive of young people. He actually wanted to know what young engineers were thinking and what their concerns were,” Jiwani concluded.

MnSPE board member, Lisa Breuer, also a past president, recalled Loomis’ participation in the 5th Friday Past Presidents’ group noting that he loved going to the meetings and “…he loved knowing what was going on with the organization and with each of us (past presidents).”
