MnSPE is pleased to award Darin Mielke, PE, with the 2025 Extra Mile Award. This award is presented to a Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers member who goes above and beyond to make a difference on behalf of Minnesota’s Licensed Professional Engineers.
As Chair of the MnSPE Legislative Committee and a board member for four years, Darin has played a pivotal role in advocating for professional engineers and guiding key initiatives during a period of significant transition for MnSPE.
Darin’s leadership was instrumental, particularly during the challenges of the pandemic. Stepping up when it mattered most, Darin played a pivotal role in advancing PE advocacy and ensuring the legislative committee remained focused and effective. His leadership, vision, and commitment have been invaluable to the growth and success of MnSPE.
One standout achievement has been spearheading the comprehensive update of MnSPE’s position statements on key issues, a valuable tool that will strengthen advocacy efforts for professional engineers.
Darin’s accomplishments reflect his passion for engineering, his dedication to MSPE, and his commitment to the greater good of his peers. His efforts have strengthened our community and positioned MnSPE to better advocate for professional engineers and the significant work they do every day.
