In the series “meet a member,” we will be highlighting members of the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers. This week, meet Kerby Nester, Senior Manager of Xcel Energy, and a member of MnSPE’s Legislative Advocacy Committee.

As the Senior Manager, Kerby manages a team of transmission line engineers. They help keep the lights on and are designing the lines that will enable a carbon-free electricity future.

Kerby served as the President of the Board in the past, and is currently a member of MnSPE’s Legislative Advocacy Committee.

When asked what does having a Professional License means to him, she answered:

“Opportunity, responsibility, and prestige.”
