Nominate outstanding PEs for Engineer or Young Engineer of the Year Awards, apply for a Project Award, or nominate a member of MnSPE for the Extra Mile Award.
Then celebrate with us at the awards luncheon, which will be part of the MnSPE Annual Meeting on April 23.

The MN Society of Professional Engineers is pleased to announce nominations are open for the 2026 awards program.
Awards will be offered in the following categories:

- Project Awards
- Engineer of the Year
- Young Engineer of the Year
- Extra Mile
Project Awards
Help us recognize projects that contribute to the advancement and betterment of public health, safety, and welfare.
If you’ve helped move clients, and communities, forward by incorporating sustainability and new approaches into projects, even when those important elements weren’t your clients’ top priorities tell us about that too when you complete the application form.
Minnesota projects completed in 2024 or 2025 are eligible for the awards program. Projects can be submitted in one of the following categories:

- Health
- Safety
- Welfare
Applications are also open for Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year.
The Young Engineer of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievements by a young engineer. The recipient will be nominated for the next Young Engineer of the Year Award sponsored by the Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science and Technology Societies.
In order to be eligible for this award, each nominee must be a member of MnSPE, be a licensed PE or certified EIT and be under 35 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
Nominees will be judged on the basis of:

- Engineering achievements
- Professional experience
- Educational and collegiate achievements
- Professional society activities
- Technical society activities
- Civic and humanitarian activities
- Continuing competence
The Engineer of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievements to the advancement and improvement of the engineering profession, and to the health, safety, and welfare of the public. The recipient will be nominated for the next Charles W. Britzius Distinguished Engineer of the Year Award sponsored by the Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science and Technology Societies.

Extra Mile Award
The Extra Mile award is given to a member of MnSPE who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer role in the past year to make a difference in the MnSPE community and with its programs.
