The tour will include:

  • History of Rahr and the malt process
  • Large and small group tours of the facility
  • Overview of the additional facilities on site. Additional buildings visited will depend on the makeup of the group’s specific interests.
  • Some of the fun we might see includes:
    • The 6 Malthouses on site have about 15,000 HP in fans and 13,000 HP of Chillers, pumps and blowers.
    • The 140 mmbtu/hr of waste heat from the biomass cogeneration plant is used in the kilning process.
    • All processing buildings are concrete ranging from 1936 to 2016
