The tour will include:
- History of Rahr and the malt process
- Large and small group tours of the facility
- Overview of the additional facilities on site. Additional buildings visited will depend on the makeup of the group’s specific interests.
- Some of the fun we might see includes:
- The 6 Malthouses on site have about 15,000 HP in fans and 13,000 HP of Chillers, pumps and blowers.
- The 140 mmbtu/hr of waste heat from the biomass cogeneration plant is used in the kilning process.
- All processing buildings are concrete ranging from 1936 to 2016
