Ann Johnson Stewart, PE, returns to Minnesota Senate
Ann Johnson Stewart, PE joined her senate colleagues in taking the oath of office on January 14. As the only PE in the Minnesota Senate, Johnson is more than ready to begin work on her top issues: transportation, upgrading the state’s aging infrastructure, and building safe, thriving communities and a sustainable future for all Minnesotans.”
Clearly, Senate leadership is aware of her priorities and her background – Johnson Stewart was named Vice Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee. She was also appointed to the Capital Investment, State and Local Government, and Environment, Climate and Legacy Committees.
Senator Johnson Stewart represents Senate District 45, which includes Minnetonka, Mound, Orono, Minnetrista, Shorewood, Wayzata, Deephaven, Excelsior, Spring Park, Tonka Bay, Woodland, Saint Bonifacius, Minnetonka Beach, Long Lake, and Greenwood.
Johnson Stewart was first elected to the state senate in 2020, she did not run in 2022. Originally from Wisconsin, Johnson Stewart received her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and her Master’s at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a business owner and has taught at the University of Minnesota and local technical colleges for over 20 years.
