Congratulations to SRF and Ramsey County on winning the 2025 MnSPE Public Safety Award, presented at the 2025 MnSPE Annual Meeting.
The Hodgson Road Reconstruction project, led by SRF Consulting Group and Alliant Engineering with support from Ramsey County and the City of Shoreview, received the Public Safety Award. This critical north-south roadway underwent a complete transformation, from a two-lane rural section to a safer three-lane urban configuration with a continuous center left-turn lane. The project also included constructing pedestrian and bicycle facilities, stormwater systems, and replacing city utilities.
The collaboration of numerous partners, including the cities of Shoreview and Vadnais Heights, Metro Transit, Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, and the Mounds View School District, was key to its success. Matt Hansen and Patrick Corkle from SRF and Joey Lundquist from Ramsey County were instrumental in delivering a project that has significantly improved public safety, reduced crashes, and enhanced accessibility for the region’s residents.
The Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers (MnSPE) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Project Awards. These awards celebrate the dedication and innovation of professional engineers whose projects protect and enhance the public’s health, safety, and welfare.
