The National Society of Professional Engineers is pleased to announce that the society for professional engineers in Minnesota is reuniting with NSPE as a state partner. The state society will also resume use of its original name, the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers.
“In a recent survey, Minnesota members overwhelmingly told us that it was time to rejoin NSPE,” said Minnesota Society president Kerby Nester, P.E. “We are excited to act on the feedback and provide more services our members value.”
Members in Minnesota can now enjoy membership in their local chapter, as well as in their state and national society. Many members will see their dues drop significantly. Those who were members only at the national level will now gain the added value of state and local chapter participation and programming—all for the same current price.
“Minnesota members will benefit from access to NSPE professional education courses and a national network advocating for the professional engineering license,” said Nester.
The reunion provides additional benefits for Minnesota members, including the opportunity to connect and share ideas with members across the country. It also gives members in Minnesota access to news and opinions about the profession through NSPE’s publications, including the flagship quarterly magazine, PE.
“We are excited to welcome NSPE-MN back as we advance our mission to foster licensed professional engineers in service to society,” said NSPE President Rick Guerra, P.E., F.NSPE. “The return of Minnesota as a state partner will better serve our members and the profession, and will allow us to build a stronger, unified, and more focused organization for professional engineers and those on the licensure path.”
